one summer night as 2010 comes to an end

In less just under 48 hours we will be waving our goodbyes to 2010 and saying hello to a new beginning, 2011. As I am sit in my boyfriends' room, preparing my goodbye to 2010, I can't help but reflect on the events that happened in the last 12 months.

2010 treated me quite well overall, and even though there were ups and downs, it was overall one of the best years I've had. It gave me new prespectives in life, learning to prioritise, to understand the reason of living. To realise that if I don't learn to love myself, there is no way I can expect others to love me. I learnt more about myself, to know what I am capable of . To know what type of person I am, to grow into an adult.

2010 gave me a new beginning, a new reason to look forward to life. It gave me one of the best boyfriends' I can ever ask for. Yes, sure we fight, we fight a lot. But at the end, we are still staying strong & no matter what, we are able to conqur and pull through all difficulties ahead.

I also met a great bunch of people in 2010, it was these people that allowed me to expand my views of life. Behind every person, they have very own life, their own views, their very own stories to tell. I learnt a lot this year from all these wonderful people.

I want to thank each and every one of you for coming into my life, whether you are jus bypassing, or a long time friend, or someone I haven't spoken to in a long time. Without you, I wouldn't be who I am today. I look forward to spending 2011 with you and I look forward to what the future has prepare for me.

love, Jenny.
- a rush post because henry was reading aloud right behind me and I lost my train of thoughts.

Have a blasting new year!

New Hobby

My boyfriend and I have found ourselves a new hobby - going to new restaurants to try out different foods at least once a week. So fun and a nice way to discover new stuff.

Last week, for our 10months, Henry and I went to try out "Chefs Gallery" in the city. It's been opened for a few months now and I've been meaning to try it out - so we booked a table for 2.

Upon arrival, the girls at the counter walked us to our seats, the interior designs were quite nice, it had kind of like a "east meets west" feel. Very nice.

Looking at the menu, most of the foods were quite reasonably priced, but the vegetables were  ridiculously over-priced. That was pretty disappointing. Henry and I decided to order 2 dishes a soup with 2 desserts and 2 drinks,  which totalled up to $45.30. The service was pretty pleasant and fast, the servings were decent size. Not the best, but not so bad either.

Diced Chilli Chicken Tossed with handmade noodles

Hot & Sour soup with silken Tofu pudding & Black Fungus

Fluffy Chinese Roti served with Pork Floss

Red Bean Paste rolled in with fine sticky rice floury pastry

Piggy Bun " - Steamed Sesame Bun!

Last weekend before Henry and I both had work, we went to this Japanese restaurant near his work at Museum call " Sushi on Stanley". Apparently, it was quoted as the cheapest Sushi Place In Sydney City. We ordered 2 Lunch Sets, one teriyaki beef and a sushi and sashimi Set. The Servicing was quite fast, even though the quality of the foods weren't on top ends. It was still very tasty and fulfilling! And the best of all, it was very cheap! For two people, two lunch sets that came with appetizer, soup and rice as well as two drinks , the bill was under $30 :) I dont think you can get that anywhere else around the city.

My Beef Teriyaki Set - $8.50

Henry's Sushi and Sashimi Set - $14.00

And yesterday, as Henry and my day off, we went to visit Joyce and Fei at Chatswood and went to New Shanghai at Chatswood Chase for lunch. We waited for about 10-15mins for the table and ordered 2 main dishes, the Shanghaiese little dumplings (Xiao Long Bao), fried dumplings(Guo Tei) and veggies to share between 4 people & 4 drinks as well. The price rounded up to around $60. The food was alright, servicing was a little disappointing because they accidentally combined our bills with another tables bill, which scared the crap out of us when we went to pay the bill. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos so there's nothing to show. haha

Last night for dinner, we once again went to Hot plate with Joyce & Fei and Christine and Tony came to join us :) The Food wasn't as good as the first time for some reason but it was still alright. Caught up with Christine and Tony cos I haven't seen them for so long. It was a nice catch up just right before christmas :)

Christmas is just around the corner, I haven't even done my christmas shopping yet. The next few days I am going to be so busy so the only time I have left is to do my christmas shopping on Friday Morning before I go to work at 5pm. Anyone care to join?

&&I wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
Enjoy this festive season with your loved ones. x

Date night with the boyfriend.

After my work training today and coincidently Henry had the night off we decided to have a simple dinner date night. Haven't had one of those in a while.

So met up with henry in the city, found him at capitol playing his pachinkos again. I don't really like him playing it because I don't really understand it and it is a form of gambling in somewhat way, and I am an anti-gambler. ( I mean, I don't even know how to play mahjong -.- ) But at the end of the day, as long as he likes it and his no addicted, I guess I am okay with it. & besides, they've got pretty nice prizes :)

Pachinko boy now has 1020 points ! hehehe, can't wait till I get the Hello Kitty Mug!

After pachinko, we decided to go try the newly opened restaurant in Chinatown call Hot Plate,  its located right next to Meet Fresh, our current favourite dessert place.

So we walked up a long flight of stairs, thinking it better worth all these efforts! And yes, it did! The food was great, the service was great, the price was affordable, the restaurant was pretty, the food was served fast and efficient. I recommend you all to try it. Although, there is one down point, there are only 4 types of main course dishes to choose from, I would prefer more varieties, but since it's a newly opened restaurant, I am hoping they will add more choices on their menu in the near future!

Henry and I ordered one set meal each, which is comes with a salad as an appetizer, soup & garlic bread, sorbet, the main dish, dessert & a complimentary drink - for $19.95! =)
HOT PLATE STEAKHOUSE !

The appetizer -
Henry & I both really enjoy that salad dressing, but we don't know what it is. haha
Garlic Bread, Kung Fu Onion Soup & Creamy Corn Soup

My Main Dish
New York Sirloin Steak served with Spaghetti & Egg

 Henry's Main
Pork Rump Steak served with Spaghetti & Egg

Dessert - Ice cream OR Fruits :)

I really do recommend this place, try it out and tell me how you find it!

We were so full from the meal, we even bailed out going to meet fresh after, so we just went back to my house and watched Deuce Bigalow European Gigalow, like a perfect date night! haha.

Mangoes - yup its really summer !

After my previous posts, I think its time for me to write a decent blog update. Yeah, the emoness strike me a few days ago due to PMS. See what we girls have to deal with?

Anyways, my colour contacts arrived last week, I couldn''t wear colour lenses before because I have really bad eye sights and its really hard for me to find something thats right for my degrees. But since I discovered these come in my degrees i just had to buy them, tell me what you reckon of these?

Went to zaia last Friday after work as usual, it was beach themed for Fiona's birthday, also bummed into Alan & Nate, surprise to see them after so long.  Too bad I wasn't really in theme, but nevertheless, it was plenty of fun fun. Vinson bought 4 gigantic beach balls, they were like the size of a one seater sofa? hahaha. Amazing to play with =p Here are some photos for the night

We've been having a bit of trouble lately but I guess we sorted out our differences in the end. For dinner, we went to Crust Pizza that newly opened at Kingsgrove - which I also work part time for at night :) Tried out some pizzas and they were beautiful <3 I recommed the Moroccan Lamb & Herb and Garlic Squares.

December 3, 2010

There's only so much a person can handle before they just give up overall.

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately in regards to my relationship. I don't know if its worth holding onto anymore. I am really scare if the past will come back and haunt me again.

Time's past, but i still can't get over what happen, why does it still hurt so much?

Sighs, I just want to give up.

December 2, 2010

homesick.

I am feeling pretty down right now. Actually having one of those nights where I am feeling blue. Even something as simple as a sad song makes me want to cry. Sighs, don't know, have you ever had that feeling before?

Tonight I've been doing a lot of reminiscing, I simply can't believe its been 3 years already. 3 years ago today, I was so excited about going back to Hong Kong. I remembered I just turned 18 then, first time going back as an adult, as well as travelling overseas with my then boyfriend. The anticipation, the excitement . Oh how I miss that!

I really miss my family in Hong Kong. I've been talking to my 5th aunty a lot lately .. I really miss her, and all my aunties, my uncles and cousins. I miss teasing my little cousin, I miss my older cousins. I miss those family gatherings. I miss sitting infront of the TV after dinner or going down for a game of badminton after dinner. I miss HK BBQ, I miss squishing into the smallest sofa with my aunty, which I've been doing since a kid - ( I swear the sofa was much bigger when I was younger.) I miss laughing at my cousin cos he kept failing at Mario Kart. I miss going to my uncles to play wii.

Sighs, I miss HK.

New Look :)

I got really bored with my blog layout so I decided to change it to a more simple looking one. Hope you like it.

Mum came back from HK this morning, Henry and I originally planned to pick her up from the airport, but after finding out that she lands at 4ish 5am in the morning, she insisted that she would catch the taxi home. I feel bad for not picking her up from the airport, but since she insisted not to, not much I can do. My mum is an independent woman like that.

My aunty bought me a new camera because my ex smashed my Nikon one against the wall and while I was moving houses, I lost the other Canon one and lost the charger for my Samsung one too. So now, I got a new Casio one, and its PINK! <3 Its pretty good picture quality, simple to use and very light. When I first got it, I thought it was a toy.

My Missha BB cream arrived last week, finally! And I have been loving it! Great coverage and very lightweight, it doesn't even feel like I am wearing makeup at all. I am in love with it. Totally recommend it!

Took my camera out for a test today, took heaps of random photos at the Phat Ent. office & Meet fresh. I realise that this camera is really good for taking photos of food. YAY! Now I can take random food shots everywhere and make everyone drool over it!

Have you guys been to meet fresh yet ? The newly opened Taiwanese dessert place at the end of China Town. It is really nice and popular there, massive line every night. If you haven't tried it, you should go and try it!

Hmm, looking at pictures are already making me drool and wanting to go back haha.
